And Our Football Authorities Get Excited About The Odd Flare!
AEK Athens supporters have taken the use of pyrotechnics at their matches to a whole new level. Unhappy with being the proponents of “the most flares ever at a football match”, they have introduced molotov cocktails to their repertoire.
What we have seen is absolutely astonishing. Petrol bombs evading security, being allowed into the stadium and then used as a weapon against visiting supporters, in this instance Ajax.
Have a look at the images provided by BBC Sport. The Greek Police actually started bashing the away fans. There doesn’t seem to be a charge on the rap sheet for throwing petrol bombs!
