Glasgow 2014 – Spectator Event and Venues Safety Cluster Manager

On 23 July  2014, the XX Commonwealth Games will open in Glasgow, attracting over 6,500  athletes and officials from over 71 nations, competing in 17 sports in 21  venues, across 11 days of competition. The Glasgow 2014 Organising Committee  (OC) is committed to ensuring that these Games are delivered successfully in an  athlete cantered and sport focused way and that the positive lasting legacy  generated will benefit everyone involved for decades to come. An event on this  truly global scale requires a dedicated and resourceful team to ensure  everything runs smoothly, on time and on budget.

We have a  number of excellent opportunities for NVQ Level 4 Spectator Safety Management  qualified individuals to join our Security department. As the Spectator Event  and Venues Safety Cluster Manager, you will be responsible for the development  and implementation of the safety management plans for spectators, venues and  events at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

To be  considered for this role, you must have a diverse knowledge of the events  industry and a track record of planning and running events and stadiums with  10,000+ spectators. It is crucial that you have knowledge of the green guide,  event guide and legislation pertaining to events and sports venues in Scotland.  You will also have experience of crowd safety management and emergency responses  at venues and events.

This is a  challenging and exciting role which is truly a once in a generation chance to  contribute to the success of one of the world`s largest sporting events.
