Showsec – FSOA Official Partner

Showsec at the Football Safety Officers Association 2013 Conference

As the official main partner to the FSOA, SHOWSEC once again supported the 2013 Conference, which took place on the 16th and 17th of October at Wychwood Park.

SHOWSEC gave an insight into their development of crowd management skills when the Football Safety Officers Association held their Annual Conference at Wychwood Park.
Learning and Development Manager Keith Hackett addressed the conference on the progressive work which has been undertaken by Showsec through their Management Development Programme and also the Foundation Degree in association with the University of Derby Corporate.
It underlined the fact that there is significantly more to the company than security and highlighted the fantastic career opportunities which are available to members of staff.
As the official main partner of the FSOA, Showsec have forged a strong association with the organisation geared to taking crowd safety techniques to a new level.
“This was an excellent opportunity to showcase the lead which we have taken in terms of training and developing very specific qualifications,” explained Hackett.
“But it was also a good chance to explore whether there are ways in which the association can have some input into our programmes and therefore add value to them.”
He added: “The Management Development Programme and the Foundation Degree have been important aspects of the company’s progress in recent years.
“We feel there are elements of those programmes which could be of benefit to the Football Safety Officers, so that was a message which we wanted to convey.”
Hackett was joined by Showsec’s Managing Director Mark Harding, Regional Manager Alan Wallace and Operations Executive Graham Herbert at the conference.
“We have entered into a long association with the FSOA, one which we hope will be of great benefit to both parties over the course of that partnership,” said Hackett.
Showsec has increased its presence at English football grounds in the early stages of the 2013-14 season, providing security and stewarding at all levels from Manchester City and Sunderland in the Barclays Premier League to non-league Alfreton Town.
